Getting to Bergamo
Orio al Serio airport is about 5 km from the centre: by bus or taxi the city is a quarter of an hour away. How to get there, what it costs and what to know about late arrivals.
ATB bus line 1 connects the airport with Bergamo's train and bus station in about 15 minutes, then continues to Porta Nuova in the heart of the Lower Town, the funicular and the Upper Town. Buses run frequently, about every 20 minutes, every day from around 5 am until late at night, around 1.30 am; on Sundays and public holidays the first departures are later.
A ticket costs about €3 from the machines at the airport or in the ATB Mobile app; on board, fares can also be paid by tapping a contactless card or phone on the validator (about €3.50). 24-hour and 72-hour tickets that include the airport are also available.

Car rental companies are at the airport and the centre is about 10 minutes away by car. The Upper Town is a limited traffic zone and street parking in the Lower Town is paid, so it is worth knowing where to park before setting off. Bergamo Hideout has a free private parking space.
